Master's programmes

At the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, you can choose from 21 master’s programmes as well as four Joint Degree master’s programmes and three cross-faculty master’s programmes.

After completing your bachelor's programme, you can register for a consecutive master’s programme (i.e. based on your bachelor's degree). If you have not studied in Graz or are seeking to enrol in a non-consecutive master's programme, you must apply for admission to the degree programme you are looking for.

In the course of the master's programme, it is recommended to set your own subject focuses that are related to your desired professional field. The University of Graz offers a variety of programmes for further education as well as supporting programmes for master’s programme students, e.g. measures within the scope of the GEWI master’s grant. Furthermore, you can acquire additional qualifications as part of the free elective courses.

The master’s programmes listed here last 4 semesters and involve a workload of 120 ECTS credits. The degree is completed with the title “Master of Arts" (MA).
